The Board of Trustees is responsible for maintaining and making improvements to all church-owned property. We source and maintain insurance coverages on the properties as well as make decisions regarding the use of church properties. Gordon Kosch and Miki Naylor are Co-chairs.
The camping team serves as a liaison to our area church camp, Camp Fontanelle, and supports the camp throughout the year through workdays and financial contributions. Current members are Doug Kallesen (Chair), Gordon Kosch, Sarah Borgman, Chuck Keep, Anne Kallesen, Kristi Nelson, Dick Breuer, Cindy Rohde, Justin King, Don and Pat Fowler.
Members of the Care Team make hospital calls to parishioners and others. Current members include Terri Brown, Jill Colegrove, Martha Davidson, Rana Favors, Becky Keep, Mary Plettner, and Diane Reeves.
The Christian Social Witness group communicates, motivates, and organizes opportunities for social justice and change in our community and beyond. Our areas of focus include racial justice, violence, recycling, and food insecurity. Members include Rod and Jean Supencheck, Rana Favors, Lisa Nielsen, Martha Davidson, Anne Kallesen, Lisa Weber, Marilyn Zehring, and Jamie Snyder (Chair).
Our Church Council serves as the primary communication tool between committees and authorizes business that occurs between Charge Conferences (e.g., approving budget changes and leadership changes). Robin Curry is Chair.
The Education Committee is committed to making disciples of Jesus Christ through Christian Education. We hold events throughout the year for parents and children to nurture their faith, and we provide opportunities for adults and children to be involved in family-oriented activities such as Sunday school, youth group, mission trips, Vacation Bible School, and small group Bible studies. Current members are Rachael Carlson, Jessy Hill, Tracy Krepel, Lisa Rieken, Cindy Rohde, Becky Shepherd, and Raenelle Thoms (Chair).
The Endowment Committee educates and communicates with current and past congregation members about the importance of endowment resources to our church and encourages them to prayerfully consider making financial contributions now and/or in the future. Current members are Suanne Boswell, Ken Curry, Gaylene Hassebrook, Twila Wallace, and Doug Olson (Chair).
The Evangelism Committee works to make disciples of Jesus Christ by promoting and maintaining a Christian atmosphere within the congregation. We focus on hospitality, spiritual growth, and faith sharing, with a goal of growing the church both internally and externally. Current members are Pat Adamy, Janet Hibbs-Jones, Anne Kallesen, Justin King, Brooke Seams, and Liz Lash (Chair).
The Finance Committee establishes our annual budget and oversees all financial aspects of the church. Current members are Dick Breuer, Carol Keller, Steve Kitt, Doug Olson, Chuck Oxley, Jeff Page, and Chuck Keep (Chair).
Our Memorial Committee treats the memorial gifts our church receives with the utmost respect and prayerfully allocates them as requests arise. Current members are Jan Arment, Betty Blaser, Gina Czapla, Linda Hutson, Beth Kurtenbach, Bob Williams, and Dawn Foote (Chair).
The Missions team helps our church family reach out to those who are hurting or troubled in our community and beyond. We provide mission trips and other service opportunities, support our local Backpack food program, and respond to special circumstantial needs at home, regionally, nationally, and internationally. Current members are Don Fowler, Cyndi Makovicka, Rocky Plettner, Rod and Jean Supencheck, Rich Snyder, Marilyn Zehring, and Janie Schneider (Chair).
The Outreach Center “Ops” team serves both our church and the community by working with our many community partners such as Red Cross, A Place at the Table, Center for Survivors, and Habitat for Humanity. Current members are Gordon Kosch, Todd Kurtenbach, and Miki Naylor (Chair).
The Staff-Parish Relations Committee serves as a liaison between the staff and congregation and functions as a personnel committee for the church. SPRC also serves as a liaison between the local church and the Conference in issues concerning pastoral appointments. It supports the ongoing professional development of staff members and assists them in enhancing their effectiveness. SPRC communicates with other committees, as appropriate, to address common issues affecting staff. Current members include Bob Blaser, Dianna McElfresh, Robin Swearingen, and Tim Owens.
The Worship team is always looking for members from a broader range of age groups to help our services be meaningful to all. Any confirmed member of the church can join the Worship team. We work with the pastor to plan weekly services as well as special services throughout the church year, such as Advent and Lent. We update the Sanctuary visuals such as banners and paraments as needed, provide audio/visual support, and serve communion every first Sunday of the month. With the assistance of staff, the Worship Committee arranges for worship service volunteers such as lector, ushers, and greeters. Current members are Alan Danforth, Jane Galley, Sharon Hunt, and Scott Zwick.
