Facilities Rental

First United Methodist Church has a rich heritage in the Columbus community dating back to 1858. Through the years, our church has grown and changed, adding an educational facility in the 1960s and a major remodel in 2012.

On May 31, 2016, First UMC purchased the building at 3602 16th Street to serve as our Outreach Center. Dedicated on September 25, 2016, the facility serves as a location to serve youth ministries as well as other community organizations and events.

First UMC welcomes members, guests and non-profit organizations to utilize our facilities in compliance with our guidelines and suggested donations.

General Information

Church Members

Please note capacities and suggested donation amounts for the location(s) you are considering prior to securing your space. 

Non-Profit Organizations

May use the facilities free of charge (damage deposit may be required, particularly for expanded or special events). Weekly and/or regular use is negotiated on a case-by-case basis, and will require a signed Facilities Usage Agreement.

Kitchen

First UMC reserves the right to have a representative of our kitchen committee present when the kitchen is in use. We are a “green” church – please use paper and/or recyclable products.

PLEASE NOTE

The presence and/or usage of alcohol/tobacco products, vaping, drug paraphernalia, weapons or violence of any kind WILL NOT BE TOLERATED at, in or on any First UMC property for ANY PURPOSE, including cooking. (Marinades that contain alcohol may be prepared offsite prior to the event.)

Use of individual Sunday School rooms may be scheduled through the Church Office with permission from the Education Committee and/or Christian Education & Youth Director.

FYI

First UMC-related activities or events take precedence over outside activities and events. Individuals and groups will be required to submit an application for approval, sign a “Hold Harmless” agreement and are responsible for their own set-up and clean-up.
