A wide range of caring ministries are organized by Pastors Cindi and Seong, including pastoral care, healing and prayer service, hospital visits, helping hands, meals of care, grief care, respite care, phone buddy, birthday calls, transportation for church and medical appointments, home-bound visitation, new baby welcome, home comumunion, delivery of worship service CDs, and special needs concerning crisis, depression, substance abuse, Alzheimers, parenting, XYZ (Xtra Years of Zest), Tai Chi, Yoga, etc. Parish Nurses group is led by Martha Davidson.
The Care Team of First UMC includes the following:
Prayer Team (weekly prayer group, prayer chain, healing service)
Visitation Team (hospital & homebound visits)
Grief Response Team (grief care, cards, etc.)
Transportation Team (to church-related activities and/or to medical appointments)
Health & Wellness Team (blood pressure checks, newsletter articles, health fair)
Specialized Care Teams – Prayer Shawl Ministry, SPEED (automotive), Quilters, XYZ Group, Hearts for Mission and Helping Hands
